Google Android- which phones will have it?

Question by ghike27: Google Android- which phones will have it?
I know the HTC Dream will, but besides that, will you be able to install it on other phones, like a Blackberry for instance, or will you have to buy a phone with it?

Q&A: What phones are currently capable, and have actually run Google Android? I want to make a list of them.

Question by 0.o Mastermind ^_^’: What phones are currently capable, and have actually run Google Android? I want to make a list of them.
I don’t know if this exist already but, I’m trying to make a list of all the phones that are currently able to run Google Android to any extent. A few of them that i know of are the HTC Touch/Vogue, the Nokia N810, E28′s E2831 (tough i think the original manufacturer did that one on their own and as such there are no instructions). The reason for this is that it is difficult to track down all these phones by myself and i think that if it was a community effort it would be a lot easier. I’m trying to get the list of phones as well as the instructions for the installations so that people will be able to say “Hey that’s my phone” or “Hey i can buy that” and then be able to say “maybe i can try it out my own”. While we can just wait around for the manufacturers to finish, i’m sure that there are a lot of people out there like myself who are pretty impatient in waiting for this to come out on tangible hardware. Lets face it we rather have a device that we can touch rather than just the emulator and we want it a bit sooner that the apparent late 2008/ early 2009 projected dates. So this list may actually be a good thing if i could get the information. Thanks for your help in advanced and once again if such a list exist, feel free to drop a link as i may have missed it in my web searching.

There are no Android phones although something with that look and feel has been ported to various devices. I guess you’ll have to wait until that platform is mature enough to be adopted by a manufacturer (if ever). With Symbian OS going free and open source Android might as well be a dead project already.

Btw, Nokia’s N810 is not a phone so by all means should not be on your list. Also, it has already a Linux based software platform so it does not need the Android stuff.

I’m pretty sure most android phones don’t use sim cards (verizon i know for sure doesn’t) so I doubt your plan would work.
